I found myself in a similar place while living alone in Atlanta at your age. Unfortunately I just sat around all week and cried, walked in circles, just waiting for his return. Now that I have some life behind me I would suggest you take control of this time apart, rather than it take control of you. Find those LYS with knitting groups, finish that quilt or sweater, check into a yoga class nearby, or look for an art center that has free studio space or classes. Life doesn't come knocking at our door, we have to go looking for it. I wish someone had given me this advice, it would have saved me a lot of heartache and unneeded emotional pain.
